Hey everyone,

I have been playing at Rebatewager and have been absolutely loyal to them. I just experienced my first difficulty today and i want to know if I am on the right side of this argument or not. I have deposited well over 3500.00 in the past 5 months or so and finally had my first cashout in December for 500.00 now my deposit sizes have ranged from 300-500 during that time period and my December deposit was 500.00

Minnesota Gophers Football

Boys,

I am a total Minnesota Rube and have read and studied a TON about this gophers team, I have not followed sports as closely as i would have liked to lately but after seeing a taped version of Saturdays game against Syracuse I have come to a few early conclusions about this team.

Offensively: The gophers are extremely DEEP at RB Eskridge and Bennett will get most of the carries but you have House as a good #3 back. This team will live and die by how Weber and Decker play. Typically this is a team that will run the ball on first down but they just do not have the breakout back they used to have in Maroney. This is a team that will struggle MIGHTILY against teams with good passing defenses. I think against a decent defense in the Big 10 Minny will average about 21 ppg with 90-120 ypg rushing.

Defensively: The gophers return quite a bit on Defense and from what I have seen are very skilled at linebacker they are quick and the DE position can really put some pressure on a fairly soft QB. The big problem for this team will be the pass defense they lack a lot in size (averaging 5'10) and they can get beat at a pretty steady clip.

These are all hypothetical lines based on what I saw from the Syracuse game. Minnesota will be middle of the road this year... obvious losses are Ohio State, Cal, Penn State,Iowa. The rest are all coin flips but assuming no major injuries if the spreads resemble what I posted on those given days I would definately take Minny!

12/15/08 College Hoops Plays

Boys,

Sorry no newsletter yesterday, I got smoked in NFL and smoked Saturday. 3-4 in College Saturday on posted plays but I played a few other games and got my ass kicked... a weekend that I lost 7k on. Anyways, Not many college games played yesterday and the shocking play that most people lost money on was Gonzaga, I cannot believe these boys got so outplayed @ Arizona, In case you did not watch the game... it was not even close. Zags got outplayed the entire game, the largest lead they ever had was only 3.... Zona shot over 50% from 3. So all in all I am sure it was a rough day for all college bettors.

Today, truly a card that just plain sucks. You will be lucky to find an edge in any of the games however I really truly like 1 game... I have a few leans in the other games, but they are simply just leans.

Pepperdine @ USC So here is the deal, USC is the better team, without a doubt. However, USC just had a bunch of suspensions recently and USC is not playing like the team that had OJ Mayo. The spread is high, and USC will win by double digits. But here are the things that are in our favor. Pepperdine has only lost 1 game by more than what the spread is (lost by like 30 against BYU). USC has only beat a team by this spread 1 time (UTM by 27). So while Pepperdine is TERRIBLE I think that they cover this spread.

Pick: Pepperdine +26 (250;00)

Cleveland St @ Syracuse Cleveland St rolls into the Cuse playing some pretty good basketball, they have kept it close against good teams and are 4-3 ATS this year. HOWEVER, I think they are heading into easily the hardest game they have played so far this year. Syracuse has played the harder schedule, averages 18ppg more and have proven that talented Mid Major teams cannot keep pace with them. I truly believe that the only play if you play is Syracuse. Yes, they will have a close game at half, but so far this year they have dominated opponents in the 2nd half, ESPECIALLY at home.

Pick: Syracuse -13 (100.00)

Summary: Well that's it for today. No other games stand out to me, they are truly all coin flips when you have below average team vs below average team. I am MOST confident in Pepperdine covering. I am about 75% that Cuse covers. Play at your own risk.

12/13/08 College Hoops Plays

Well I personally did not play anything, for capping completely shitty games I did pretty well...2-2. I hope that if you played any games you made money. I really think that tomorrow is the day to make some money, but I also think that a lot of games are games you truly truly have to watch out for... my picks will be in no particular order as far as time goes.. just covering plays I will bet and plays I really like.

On the slate you have so many ranked teams playing and quite a few spreads that's truly boggle my mind a little so here we go...

Butler @ Ohio State Ohio State has really surprised a lot of teams this year as well as bettors. Butler is doing better than expected this year and winning clutch games they should win, surprisingly they have really played well on the road. Both teams come into this contest undefeated.. HOWEVER this is by far Butler's toughest game so far..Both teams average around 66-69pts a game and hold opponents to low 50's. Butler must make 3's in this game to stay in the game and cannot let the crowd get into it. Mack, Howard and Hayward are the keys... if they stay out of foul trouble they can cover this spread. Ohio State will blow this game out if the crowd gets into it and they stop the perimeter shooting.

Pick: Butler +8 (I would wait on this spread until tomorrow morning, I predict people hammer Ohio state and it gets to +10) (250.00)

Tennessee @ Temple So this is a line that I truly do not understand. Tennessee has played the tougher teams (obviously) Temple's best opponent has been Clemson (loss by 4). Tennessee puts up an insane number of points and obviously are averaging darn close to 90 ppg. Temple relies on defense and Dionte Christmas to keep them in games. I look for TN to light up the nets and show the nation why they are a top 10 team. Temple's only hope is get the crowd into it.. play great D and stop perimeter shooting. If Chism gets into foul trouble early that could also be some concern but I like the vols.

Pick: Tennessee -6 (Line will likely go up..I would not take over -8) (450.00)

Virginia CommonWealth @ Richmond This game is a headscratcher to most people and most bettors would probably choose to stay away from this game. I personally like this game for the simple fact that while Richmond has played well and VCU has just done what it takes to beat opponents I think Maynor really goes off in this game. The obvious keys in this game for Richmond... shut down Maynor. If they successfully do that and guard the perimeter VCU does not cover. I like this team because I like to go where the talent is. VCU has played the slightly tougher schedule and wins when they need to win... while this is not a huge play I think it's worth putting some money on it.

Pick: VCU -4 (True gamblers play) (150.00)

Umass @ Kansas Let me first say... UMASS IS SHIT. They have yet to win on the road, they have been blown out by better teams and frankly they crumble on the road so badly they lost to Toledo (which is really really bad) I normally do not like to bet games with insane spreads. HOWEVER, this matchup is so severely one sided and favorable for Kansas that I think the automatic play is KU.. I think they can cover 22-24.... so with the spread being 18 its a gift. Kansas is a tough place to play and there is no chance that UMASS stops KU. The only thing that prevents KU from covering is KU.

Pick: Kansas -18 (play as high as 21 or 22 in my opinion) (250.00)

Memphis @ Georgetown This is a hell of a game to cap. I think that Memphis gets the edge for playing a stronger schedule so far but I think GU at home will be such an amazingly tough environment for Memphis. Stats are very similar, both teams have blown out the teams they are supposed to blow out. Evans, Dozier and Taggart have to go off for Memphis to win this game. Summers is a hell of a player on GU's side... the key in this game will come down to Memphis not getting cold like in the Xaiver game. Memphis shot painfully bad and got behind the 8ball too quickly. GU feeds off of defense and pts in the paint.... Tough game... but I like Memphis +pts

Pick: Memphis +5.5 (really would like to see this get to +6.5 or +7) (250.00)

West Virginia @ Duquesne Ok, let's face the facts... WVU is the better team. WVU has won the games they were supposed to win, they have stayed close and have not given up when they faced large deficit's the only thing that really truly will make a difference is Free Throw shooting. For the love of god...WVU has talent but cannot shoot FT's.... that is a big enemy for larger spreads... but flat out I like WVU.

Pick: West Virginia -7 (150.00) .... DO NOT play this much higher than 7.

Xaiver @ Cincinatti Skip this game if you don't want action. I really think Xaiver is for real and this is a true chance to prove it. Raymond and Brown have been rockstars and they get a true test against Cincinatti on the road. This is truly a tough game to cap because Xaiver really has yet to face an extremely hostile environment. Xaiver has played tougher teams, and I truly believe they have more talent... if this team can survive the hostile confines I look for them to win and cover. Cincy has to rely on defense, if they allow Raymond and Brown to get off they are screwed... I again choose to go with the talent.

Pick: Xaiver -2 (300.00) Watch this spread close... I think that some serious movement could happen in either direction.

************TRUE RISK TAKERS***********

Oral Roberts +35.5. Will Carolina win.. yes. Do they win by double digits... yes. Will they win by more than 36... I truly don't know.. that is a large ass spread.. I will take a small play with the pts... 100 or so.

Summary: a TON of action today.. I like a few more games but waiting to see what the lines do.. catch me in chat if you need some opinions. I do not expect to go undefeated but I would love to think that I will have a winning day.. however I have been luke warm as of late. Only play what you feel is worth playing... I am a gambler and i think that this is a winning card overall... but who knows. Watch for injuries as well.. I bet so many games it is hard for me to keep track and it sometimes slips past my plays.

12/11/08 College Hoops Plays

We just cannot get that undefeated day, we had a day of 2-1 and some baffling line movements that made absolutely no sense. I really hate the fact that Dayton did not show up to play. They are truly a better team than the one that took the court last night. Butler won fairly easy and Zags pulled away for a no sweat cover.

So for Thursday we have a very tough slate of games... NOTHING really stands out and maybe only a few games are even playable in my book... So here we go.

St Joseph's @ Villanova I feel this line is right on the money, it could move to -10. Nova has only 1 loss to a fantastic Texas team and St Joes is pretty much the team a lot of people expected them to be. What stands out about this game is how can Villanova respond after a tough loss to Texas? Nova needs to play it's game, great defense combined with hot shooting. They CANNOT allow St Joes to heat up from beyond the arc. What stands out to me is St Joes has been blown out by every single superior opponent they have faced (with exception to Holy Cross OT Loss) all other losses were by double digits... If Nova gets off to a good start and the crowd gets into it.. Nova Covers.

Pick: Villanova -9.5 (350.00)

Wisconsin-Milwaukee @ Miami Ohio This is a pretty sharp spread in my opinion because you have two teams who have WON and LOST in blowout fashion. Wisconsin-Mil has started off as a very very bad road team this year. I really truly think that if Wisconsin-Mil can get off to a fast start like their previous 2 games, I think they definately cover. The X Factor is can they finish? If this game hangs around the 50-60 mark, Miami-OH will cover. If WIsconsin-Mil can play the high scoring game they like and get it up to 70 or so... they will cover fairly easy... Only play is to take the points and cross your fingers.

Pick: Wisconsin-Milwaukee +14.5 ($200.00)

Southern Miss @ Kansas State For those of you who go into chat may have seen me praise Kansas State several times... these boys can flat out score. They average almost 80 a game and have 3 losses with no loss by more than 5 points. The only problem with this team is that they have a tendancy to surrender A LOT of points but the team plays strong, when they played @ Kentucky this team was down by double digits at half and put up 49 in the second half to lose by 2. Southern Miss on the other hand relies on trying to keep games lower scoring and generally play closer games. The spread is at 5, which of the 3 losses only 1 loss for Southern Miss has been more than 5. If KState starts off hot and the game gets to upper 70's they cover.

Pick: Kansas State -5 ($200.00) ****This is a line I am going to wait and see what happens before a bet is placed.. DO NOT bet this over -6.

Long Beach State @ Weber State Let's face the facts with this game. Both teams play close games. That's all there is to it. Weber State last played against BYU and absolutely got blown out. Long Beach has played tougher opponents and has found a way to keep games very close. The disturbing thing is LBS has only 1 road win and they are going into a game where the opponent has had 8 days to think of their previous game against BYU.. HOWEVER, I think LBS can come out strong and if they get a decent cushion at half they can truly walk away with a win in this game. Weber State relies heavily on outside shooting and LBS hung in with a tough Wisconsin team for the better part of the game.

Pick: Long Beach State -1 ($200.00) (No play above -2.5)

Summary: These games with the exception of Villanova, are not games that are very favorable games to bettors. It truly is tough to find an edge with the lines and teams involved. I would advise to minimize and play only what you feel comfortable with. I think this could be a 3-1 day or a 1-3 day... unpredictible teams result in extremely unpredictible outcomes.

Watch these lines closely, KState will be a very very interesting line to me. I think as bettors examine statistics this line COULD fall into a more favorable spot for us. Wisconsin-Mil is just one of those teams that is so unpredictible... so again I look for that line to in all liklihood drop. I do not gurantee or promise anything in regards to these plays.

Well yesterday we did 4-1 which is better than expected however I lost the game I thought I would not lose so thanks to Va Tech for screwing me. I really did not like the line movement that took place in all the other games but all in all a pretty great day so I can only be thankful. I hope that everyone followed on the card but i know not everyone did so let's shoot for another winning day.

So today we have a lot of games on tap... a few intriguing matchups and I will signify which I personally bet with ($0.00) next to them. I will cap the games I personally feel are games that could be bet, the others I will leave and you can flip coins with.

Butler @ Bradley THIS IS A LINE THAT YOU MUST MOVE ON IMMEDIATELY! This line is moving and will likely be -4 or -5 by tip if not higher. This line opened at -1.5 for butler. Butler beats Bradley in every statistical category and realistically should be a higher fav than this... at the time of writing this the line already is at -2.5. Butler scores a point more a game, but holds oppenents to much fewer points. Butler has not lost yet, Bradley has been blown out by 3 teams which are better than them, but as we have learned Florida is over-rated and they beat Bradley by 23.

Pick: Butler -1.5 (play until -4. At that point it becomes a no play... due to being on the road) ($320.00)

Dayton @ Creighton So this is one of those lines that makes you shake your head. An undefeated team (Dayton) goes into a team that has played inferior opponents (Creighton) and is getting 6 points. Sure, on paper Creighton scores 5 more points a game but talk about a team getting ZERO respect. This line will likely move to Dayton +3 or Dayton +4. I look for Dayton to keep it close or win outright, I don't expect them to lay an egg because they face Creighton at home. Take the points.

Pick: Dayton +6 (to be safe, do not play dayton +4 or less) ($320.00)

Gonzaga @ Washington St This is one of those games that again makes ZERO sense to me. Zags are outscoring opponents by an average of 20ppg. Zags have handled a lot of VERY good teams. Zags impressed me against TN which should definately make a splash in the tourney. On the other hand, Wazzu has lost to inferior opponents and really has not been tested by a team such as Gonzaga. Zags will win, Zags may win by double digits. The key for Wazzu is to shoot... they are a team that can shoot and when they shoot they stand a chance. Wazzu crowd has to get in this game as well... if Zags get off to a fast start... its over.

Pick: Gonzaga -4 (go as high as -6) ($350.00)

To be honest everything else is a coinfip in my book, a few other plays I like.. Maybe Arizona -6. Boise State with the points is another possibility but I will send out more plays tomorrow as I see fit. These are plays I locked in as soon as I possibly could. I feel confident that this could be 3-0.

12/9/08 NCAA Hoops

So yesterday I didn't really bet any games and of course wouldn't you know it... would have been 4-1. But hey I didn't lose anything... so I am thankful for that. We learned that sometimes these early spreads can intimidate and make you question whether or not a team is good enough to blow out another team who should be a much weaker opponent.

* YES, spreads did appear for Louisville and Ohio AFTER I sent the e-mail. *

So we have quite a few games on tap for Tuesday, however a lot are fairly scary games in my opinion but I will do write ups on the games that I feel are playable. I highly advise you to lay off a lot of the games I don't post... I like action and usually bet a lot of stuff so if I am laying off that should say something.

Virginia Tech @ Georgia Georgia is coming off a HUGE blowout loss at Illinois. Prior to this blowout loss Georgia had played fairly decent against inferior opponents which obviously pads the record like it has in Georgia's case. Va Tech has played much tougher opponents and has not lost a game by more than 4 points. The clear cut choice is Va Tech. They score 8 more pts per game and have the ability to shoot the 3 when they get really hot.

PICK: Va Tech -3.5 (250.00)

Northern Iowa @ Iowa This is just one of those games where you shake your head. Iowa has the much better record, has played tougher opponents and has not suffered the type of blowouts that NI has. HOWEVER, interstate rivalries can make kids show up when they normally do not. NI scores more points (against lesser opponents) and really whenever a tough team plays them Northern gets blown out (Marquette). Iowa relies heavily on defense. If this game is a slower paced game that is in the 50-60 range Iowa will cover. IF the game shoots into the 70's it will be tough as Iowa is not a big scoring machine.

PICK: Iowa -6 (if this rises much more than 8 it becomes a no play) (250.00)

West Virginia @ Davidson What a tough game to cap. Both teams have played very well thus far and obviously Davidson is VERY close to being undefeated as they ALMOST upset an EXTREMELY tough Oklahoma team. One can argue that WVU has not played the strength of opponents that Davidson has. When looking at the stats both teams are virtually identical... sure Davidson scores more points but also allows more... the key for this game will be Davidson getting started early ... This line will in all liklihood not move much. WVU needs to and shut down Stephon Curry.

Pick: Davidson -1.5 (if this line moves to 3-4 it is a lean to WVU) (150.00)

Purdue @ Ball State This game will be short and sweet. Purdue is the play. They have played much tougher opponents, the only losses they have are to top 10 teams. Ball State is in a weaker conferance and has losses to downright crappy teams. Purdue averages almost 80 a game, ball state closer to 60... both teams hold opponents to around 60 a game.

Pick: Purdue -11 (I don't like Big Ten teams covering much more than 16 pts or so in this situation) (350.00)

Texas @ Villanova Biggest matchup of the night. Nova is undefeated and Texas has only 1 loss by 1 point. Texas comes in as favorites and Nova is an underdog at home which is something they are not used to this year considering they have blown out every single opponent. The biggest difference in this game is who has Nova played? Fairly weak opponents and on the other hand Texas had downright embarassed some very good teams... The tricky thing is, how will Texas do in a later night game in a hostile environment? All the good teams they have faced so far have been in environments that are not so hostile... Stats wise.. Nova has better stats but again.. they have not played the strength of opponent here...

Pick: Texas -2.5 (line moves to 4.5 or higher I would take nova) (250.00)

I usually get nervous taking all favorites, but following statistics and past games I just can't make a case for a single underdog on this card... with exception to WVU. I am about as confident as one can be with this card, yes there are a quite a few games I am not picking and that is simply because they are shitty teams... when you have 2 crappy teams and the spread is 2 points.. why not flip a coin? I learned my lesson picking umass at toledo.. not going down that road again...
